HAPPY EASTER
Those who have experienced the valley of the ‘shadow of death’ know the despair and
travail that accompany such a place. It is never easy to find oneself in a situation where we
feel powerless to change circumstances, it’s a true reality check over how strong we really
are. It reminds me of the powerful process Jesus experienced prior to surrendering to the
cross. The agony and grief in the Garden of Gethsemane, the utter contempt and cruelty
from His accusers and the pain as He lost touch with God, His father on the cross.
But then … He rose from the grave!! After defeating Satan and death, he appeared again to
His disciples. What joy, exultation and wonder they must all have experienced. He’s alive
and will be forever – how totally awesome and supernatural.
The amazing miracle is that He desires to be with us in our times of travail, that we do not
have to experience fear or overwhelm in that space alone. He has promised to draw near to
us in our sorrow, if we are willing to trust in Him and call out for His help.
Our prayer is that you allow His presence into your heart and circumstances – may you too
experience a rising out of whatever dark situation you face. May you know life and life more
abundantly.

Word of Encouragement
2025
A new year, heralding new hopes, dreams and aspirations for many. However, before we can embrace something new, its worth taking stock of the year that has just passed. What was accomplished and also what was not realised – the gains and losses. What we can celebrate and also what we mourn. All are equally important.
In preparing his disciples for the changes that lay ahead before His crucifixion, Jesus promised: ‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid (John 14:27). A promise of His enduring presence in the midst of overwhelm, suffering or confusion. His promise still stands for those who believe ‘in Him’, He is with us!
We can approach the future with hope – we pray that you experience the ‘shalom’ of the Lord in the coming months and that 2025 proves to be a year of blessing.
